Well, our little Carina isn’t the only one getting older around here! I went to the doctor this past week for some knee pain I’ve been having (well, I’ve had knee issues for years, but over the past few months it has gotten worse and worse). Turns out I have arthritis in my knees. My doctor said I probably have the 13 years or so of baton twirling and marching to thank for that. She’s suggested I start taking Glucosamine for the joint pain and start swimming. I’ve started the Glucosamine, but am still searching for a good pool to do lap swimming.

Me getting older is not cute, but thankfully – Carina getting older is! Her latest thing is brushing her teeth. She has a big girl brush now and loves to do it herself (after Mom or Dad does a once over first . She even likes to rinse if off and put it back in the holder. She’s so cute (especially when she’s posing with Daddy)!

It’s a good thing she likes to brush her teeth since she tried her first chocolate covered pretzel…

Dave is actually in Germany right now on business at the Frankfurt office. He flies to the UK on Wednesday to visit the London office. We decided to make a little vacation out of it, so on Wednesday I’m flying to London to meet him! Carina will be taken care of by the grandparents. I’m a little (well, okay totally) nervous about being that far away from her, but I’m excited to be getting to Europe for the first time. We’ll be home Sunday and I’ll definitely post about the trip!
Of course when Dave is gone on business something always has to go wrong. This time, it was conjunctivitis (pink eye)…

Poor Carina! I’ve never had it myself so I had no idea what it was, but the nurse on the phone diagnosed her without even seeing her! I guess it’s very common. Anyway, she started on the drops and her eye was looking almost back to normal in one day. What fun! Ugh!
